What is The Hive?
It’s the name of the community centre due to open in Whitehouse in July 2024

What will it have there?
- Main hall (capacity for 120 seated or 200 standing),
- Meeting Room (capacity for 8 seated or 20 standing)
- Kitchen
- Toilets (male, female & disabled access)
- Community Council office
- Car parking (capacity for 75 cars)
- Electric vehicle charging
Why is it called that?
We ran a competition and asked residents to suggest names. We selected this as the winning entry as we feel it embodies the hive of activity that we expect it to become! Whitehouse resident Maria Farrell proposed the winning entry.
Can I book it?
Yes! The Hive is a facility for all of Whitehouse. We will shortly launch our online booking page – check back soon. If you would like to enquire about a regular booking slot for The Hive, you can email us: TheHive@whitehouse-cc.gov.uk
Who can book it?
As a facility for the community, we have set our pricing to offer the best value for local community groups.
Community Groups: Groups which are open to anyone in the community. These may be free, or you may charge people to attend. (e.g. fitness groups, martial arts, art & crafts class)
Private Hire: Bookings by an individual which are not open to the public (e.g. wedding, birthday party, family gathering)
Commercial: Bookings by a company which are not open to the public (e.g. conference, training, team meeting)
How much will it cost to book?
You can book our meeting room, the community hall, or the whole building.
